FAQ'S
-
Does the heavy cream go into the filling?
- The warm cream is to be reserved for step 4. Put the cinnamon rolls into the pan. Pour the warm cream over the centers. The warm cream helps the rolls to rise and bakes into that ooey-gooeiness.
-
Can I make the cinnamon rolls ahead?
- Yes these rolls are perfect to make ahead for a special occasion and here is how.
- Prepare the cinnamon roll dough, press dough out and layer with the butter and cinnamon sugar. Roll up the dough and cut into rolls. Place the rolls into the prepared pan, cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate or freeze. Save the heavy cream for the day of baking.
- Ready to bake? Remove the rolls from the refrigerator or freezer. If frozen, refrigerate 1-2 days to thaw. Remove from the refrigerator, keep covered while it comes to room temperature.
- Warm up the heavy cram and pour over the center of the rolls. Cover with foil and set on the stovetop or warm area to let rise. It's slow rise which will take the full hour. Heat oven and bake.
- For a faster rise, heat oven to lowest temp and turn off the oven. Place the foil covered rolls into the warm oven. Let rise until doubled in size. Remove the rolls from the oven and remove foil, heat oven to 350 degrees. Then bake.
